Pesach Tzedakah

Dear Members & Friends of the ATCS,

After the outpouring of generosity we witnessed during Purim, one might think that the need would be small as we approach Passover. Sadly, this is not the case.

While we raised more than last year to support our community, the reality is that we had to lower the amount given to each family. Why? Because more people are suffering, and the need is greater than ever.

Passover is now just weeks away, and the rising costs of matzah, wine, eggs, chicken, and all the essentials have made this already difficult time even harder. Matzah alone has increased by 55%. These price hikes are pushing families who are already struggling to the brink.

I am writing to you now, not as a distant figure, but as a member of our community, asking you to help those we know and care about. The woman sitting next to you in Shul, the elderly man down the street, the children who play alongside ours—these are the faces of those who are turning to us for support.

In just three weeks, they will sit down to their Seders, and without our help, many of them will not have the means to do so with dignity. Your donation to our Shul’s Passover Tzedakah Fund will ensure that they can celebrate this special time with their families.

Every penny of your donation will go directly to those in need within our community. Your generosity will make an immediate, tangible difference in their lives as they strive to give their families a joyful Passover.

Tax receipts will be provided in accordance with CRA regulations.

Sincerely,
Rabbi Avram Rothman
