The Thornhill Community Shul (“TCS”)/Aish Learning Centre in conjunction with the Gordon Family is proud to announce the establishment of "The Hessie Gordon Memorial Fund" (The HGM Fund) .
Pursuant to the Mission Statement of The HGM Fund the fund was established in order to continue the incredible legacy of Hessie Gordon, of blessed memory, specifically in the area of teaching and understanding of life wisdom and human psychology through the prism of Torah.
The HGM Fund will be used to further the aforementioned Mission Statement by promoting causes that were dear to Hessie and also to provide a yearly lecture or Shabbaton in Toronto in her memory.
The HGM Fund was inaugurated at a special lecture given by Hessie Gordon’s, O”H’ son, Rabbi Chanan (Antony) Gordon of Los Angeles during Sukkoth of 2009.
Rabbi Avram Rothman, Rabbi of the Thornhill Community Shul, is proud to have this event and The HGM Fund as a part of the Thornhill Community Shul, where the late Hessie Gordon attended services and was a member for a number of years together with her husband Sol. As a friend of the Gordon family, Rabbi Rothman stressed the importance of honouring the memory and life of Hessie and continuing to educate people in the causes important to her.
