The Talmud teaches that when a community prays for an individual & T`zdakah is given on the person's behalf that it is an effective way to ask the Almighty for a complete recovery or cure. Every week we gather together, recite a special prayer and recite the names of the individuals who are seeking a recovery. Feel free to add your loved one's or friends names to our list.
The proper way to list someone is by their Hebrew name followed by their mother's Hebrew name.If the person's Hebrew name is not known, we suggest that you write to our Rabbi and ask his guidance.
It is important that one also give T`zdakah on behalf of the ill person. The prayer is based on the reward of the mitzvah of Tzdakah and is most effective when combined with a donation to a worthy cause. It is not essential that you donate to the Thornhill Community Shul. Donations to any worthy Torah or Jewish cause can be made.
However, any donations to our Shul and programmes will be greatly appreciated.
In addition, please leave the person's english name with the listing, so that people who may know the ill person can better pray on their behalf. The english name is not essential, just helpful.
We clear this list every Rosh Chodesh with the hope that all have received the bracha they are requesting. If you wish that a name continue after Rosh Chodesh, then kindly send it in again each month.
Prayers & T`zdakah are wonderful ways to benefit an ill friend or loved one. As well, the merit of your Tzdakah benefits the person greatly. If you did choose to donate to the TCS, we assure you that your funds will be spent in an effective and worthwhile manner.
